Final New York Titles Sequence

In this session we put together our movie sequence with our soundtrack. we also added our ident to the beggining of the sequence. We then added titles to the sequence such as cast names, producers, editors etc and learnt how to make them flout accros the screen and also how to fade them in and out. It was quite difficult when i had to incert all the titles but once knew what to do it became very simple. I then learnt that i could copy the text i just created then paste attributes, this made the process much quicker. Im happy with my final movie sequence and i enjoyed the process of making it.

New York garageband soundtrack session

In this session we used gargeband to create a soundtrack to fit with our New York movie sequence. Once we opened gargeband we could chose from thousands of sound clips that we could put toghether to create a soundtrack. I searched through different beats, synths and melodies until i found a couple that fit together and would go well with my movie sequence. I am happy with what i created as i feel that it creates a good theme when put together with the New York sequence.

New York final cut editing session

In this session we created a sequence from editing together short clips of New York using final cut. We began by opening the folder containing the clips into final cut and then double clicking on them which allowed us to select how much of the clip we wanted to use, after we selected a couple of clips we could cut or trim them so they wouldn't play for too long. We then began to blend the clips together using a simple fade or video transition. my sequence is one minute long and im happy with how i put each clip together.

Logo ident production session

In this session i began to make my logo using photoshop. Firstly what i did was search google for an image of a film roll, once i found one i liked i opened it in photoshop and as i did not want the full image i had to cut out the part i wanted so i used the magnetic lasso tool to do so. Once the film roll image was finished i searched the internet for a unique font that i could use in my logo, When i found the font i downloaded it so that i could use it in photoshop. I then used the text tool to insert the name of my production company and then searched for an effect that would make the text stand out on the logo.

Media production company logo planning session

In this session our task was to start drawing out different ideas that would become the logo for a media production company. I began brainstorming ideas on a piece of paper, each idea had a theme of media involved e.g. film roll, camera. I then came up with a name that i would incorporate into the logo. The name of the company is Melchiorre Ruvolo's Media or Mr Media for short. We also had to think of an animation for the company logo that will be created in Final Cut.

Once i was happy with a design that i will design in photoshop i also thought of a animation. The film roll will fade in followed by the text which will also fade in. i will also add a sound effect of a film projector that will play throughout the animation.

Logo research session

in this session we were told to research two different logo's that we found interesting. We had to research information and history about the logo's, we drew and annotated them and talked about the shape, fonts, colours and size which were used. We also were asked to write about what associations the design elements might suggest. My first logo was Money Clothing. Money Clothing is an urban clothing brand  first established in 2003 by Melvyn de Villiersm together with Nick Cordell. Takashi "Maru" Marujo joined them one year afterwards.
the brand is most commonly remembered for it's logo of the 'King Ape' which is viewable on most of the  company's products. The 'King Ape' logo links to the name 'Money' as it uses a theme of wealth as the 'King Ape' wears a crown.

The second logo that i chose was the Twitter logo. Twitter is an online social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read text-based posts of up to 140 characters, informally known as "tweets". Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey.

Photoshop Skills Session 1: Club Flyer Task

In this session we had to design a club flyer using photoshop. Firstly We downloaded two different images of our choice that we would blent together to create a background for our flyer. the images had to include some kind of theme that could link to the club, so i used an image of dj turntables and an image of lasers to give it a real club look.

I then opened them in photoshop and used the transparent effect to blend the images together. we used the text tool to write information about our club on the the image e.g club name, opening times and ticket price, we could change the size, font and also use other effects to change the text to make it stand out on the flyer. My flyer has a very simple look, i have tried to match the colour of the text with the background but at the same time making it stand out with it's bold font.

Photoshop Skills Session 1: Earth & Eye Exercise

In our first session we used photoshop to create an image by blending two images together. We began by downloading each image from Flickr, one was a picture of an eye and the other was of the earth. We then opened them in photoshop and moved the image of the earth onto the eye, we cut the earth out from its background using the magnetic lasso tool. Then we resized the earth so it was the same size as the eye and used an effect that changed the transparency of the earth. We also used effects to change the colour and texture of the image. This process took a while as we had to get used to using the different tools but once we finished we were happy with the outcome.
